It's not much of a difference tbh. I think part of that is remenant belief from Diablo II! Fairly sure blizz have stated they didn't want it to be a big difference or people would just farm the cow level and no other parts of the game. And that is not what they want.

According to the theories in forums, the secret cow level seems to drop best loot in the game (one step above last level of your difficulty), and also has significantly higher droprate of legendaries.

But yeah, D3 is single player game for most, so server problems at Blizz are epic fail.

WoW had frequently 2-3 day outages during vanilla and early TBC after wednesday maintenances.

I dunnoooo. I think the WoW forum would descend into worse rage if faced with a similar situation.

Kinda proves that WoW players are more mature in comparison. Regardless of the minimum age limit of the game.

There seems to be an unusual amount of nerdrage in the D3 tech support forum. It actually makes the wow forums look mature by comparison.

Fire Mage X-realm
« on: Tuesday, 22 Nov 2011, 00:27:25 »
Hey everyone

My RL name is Marcel, I'm a 23 year-old dutch student living Noord Brabant, for those of you who know where that is ;). I have a an english GF, and I'm currently looking to find an internship to graduate my bachelor degree in economics. The goal is to find an internship in London so I can move there to live with my GF in the near future.

I've been playing WoW since Vanilla, mostly on DMF. When I met my GF (in a party via the LFG tool on an alt in BRD! You don't make this stuff up...) I transferred most of my characters over to her server and to the alliance so we could play together.

During the latter part of TBC I raided with Prophecy. You guys might remember my shammie "Gorzath" or my warlock "Voshir". However it is in the distant past.

Before that I've been in Dark Elders as well. (The earlier part of TBC, I don't remember much of those days though.)

More recently I've been raiding with my GF's alliance guild Reckoning. It's currently the only actively raiding 25-man guild on the alliance side of that server. (Anachronos)
Unfortunately Anachronos is having severe population issues and 25-man raiding is becoming nearly impossible. We've had to resort to splitting to 2 10-man groups because otherwise we'd simply be unable to raid. On 25-man we've cleared 1/7 heroic. On 10-man we've managed 6/7 heroic and glory of the firelands raider. My current main in that guild is "Daltharion" which is my druid tank.

http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/anachronos/Daltharion/advanced

It's also good to note that I'm currently in the rank of "Raid Leader" in this guild which leaves me with much of the responsibilities of actual raid management during the raid itself.

Other than that I like to do my fair share of PVP. (Arena's mostly. Haven't yet done much rated BG's although I might be interested in trying this some time)

Of course you're wondering why I am leaving my current guild. There's a whole set of reasons but I will name the most important ones:
- My girlfriend has just stopped playing WoW because she needs to focus on her studies.
- The guild is unable to raid 25-man, something I really enjoy and love a whole lot more than 10-man.
- Because of a dire recruitment situation the guild has resorted to recruiting people of sub-optimal quality. Both skill wise as personality wise. (Some of them are just not very nice people, and I enjoy the social aspect of WoW more than anyone!)
-I'm looking to step down from the plate as "raidleader". Of course I still want progression and to be very active with raiding. I just find the stresses of having to tell other classes/roles what to do all the time and doing things like checking whether everyones gear is set up properly outside of raids consumes too much of my time, up to a point where I'm spending more time on the armory and with my rawr tool than actually playing my game.
- I want to be horde again!
- I want to come back to my old trusty server where I started my WoW carreer and I have some friends there from the old days that I would like to play with some more again =)

I'm aware that it's hard to get a tanking spot in a fully operational raiding guild so I won't even attempt to make an application for it =) And I would quite like a change of main and do something else for a change.

I would like to make this application for my mage. As you all probably know, fire spec is going to be very comparable to arcane again in 4.3 and it's a spec I really enjoy. It's got alot of reactiveness to it rather than a very set-in-stone rotation, something I enjoy.  (Orvil, gnome mage. Will probably make him into a Troll named Shoja, hence the nickname on my forum account ^^)

http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/anachronos/Orvil/advanced

I realise very well that he's currently hardly geared at all, but I don't think this will be an issue. I'm currently working hard to get him geared up enough to be able to join heroic content, and soon with the release of 4.3 I'll be gearing up in the new heroics and LFR quickly enough.

I tried LUI for a bit, didn't like it.. So I still use a mostly standard WoW UI, which alot of people find strange. But it works for me. Of course I do use alot of the standard addons: recount, omen, bartender, DBM, powerauras, Quartz castbar etc. and a few class-specific addons.

I will start with a picture of the UI of my current main:

Followed by a picture of my current alt, but the char I'm looking to join Prophecy with:

Most of our raid logs are all available if you go to worldoflog.com and look for Reckoning on the Anachronos server. We don't really log our alt-runs though, so I can't show you any logs with my mage. Nor do I really raid with him that much at the moment. (We don't really do many guild alt-runs because not alot of people want to).

This is a log of me tanking a night of 10-man progression.
http://worldoflogs.com/reports/ogymrlitt2g5kwni/

I'm not a clicker :-O
I click my food and my flask, that's it =P (You can see the little bartender bar to the right of my normal bars, that's the things I click.)
But no, of course I don't click my abilities.
I move using my mouse. Only when I strafe do I use a keyboard button. (Ofc strafing is probably something I won't need to do much playing my mage, but something I needed to do very much when tanking.)

Probably good to mention what I'm looking for in this game:

I want to have a nice time with nice people playing a nice game together and having a laugh whilst doing it. I can be serious when it is needed and I like progression, and I don't mind putting in the nights of wiping required to achieve it. (This just makes it all the more rewarding when you finally get something down knowing that you've had to work hard for it.) Although I wouldn't consider myself to be a very hardcore-player. I don't want to strive to achieve any world-first or anything like that. I would be somewhere in the middle, or as you said somewhere (I'm sure I read it somewhere) a med-core player. That is why I think Prophecy would suit me very well as a guild.
As I've said the social part of WoW is important to me, so I can be a bit chatty on TS, but ofc will be quiet when we get to serious progression raiding =P but will be more than happy to give my input if that is requested.

I hope you will consider to give me a trial in your guild, and I hope to be killing deathwing with you soon!
And to embark on the adventure in panda-land after that o.O (Yes, I'm in the pro-panda camp! =P )

Kind regards,

Marcel

Thanks for the application, we'll discuss it and get back to you soon.

Hi again,

Pack your bags and get your ass back to Darkmoon Faire! We're accepting your app.

P.S. If possible, try to be here and ready to raid by tomorrow (20:00), we tend to clear 6/7h+raggy normal on wednesdays, it'd be great if we could get you as well geared as possible before 4.3
