It looks like the error codes have received a much needed upgrade. I've gone from 33 to 37. Yay! Or something.

Well, the servers are allegedly back up. However, they seem to have limited concurrency rather severely.

Well, the error has now morphed into Error 3003. This is quite an outage

act 3 hell (~halfway), we got a "vampiric molten " pack
(quote) Row: "I refuse"
it was also a running-away type of mob so it pulled many many other packs too

Actually, I find vampiric mortar to be pretty horrific, given how many pets I have out for them to kill  :'(

How to set up PowerAuras.
« on: Thursday, 20 Aug 2009, 14:54:04 »
I know lots of people already know about/use this addon, but I figured I would write a short guide for it for those who don't because it's really good.  :D

PowerAuras is an addon that will display visual effects around your character when certain conditions are met. What makes it great that it is really customizable and as such can be used in lots of different situations. You can find it here.

1. Once you have installed it, type "/powa" in chat.
Typing "/powa" opens the config window showing all your current auras.

2. Making a new aura
Click "New" to open the effects editor for a new aura. You can use the position sliders to move the aura around, the colour picker to change the colour and so on. There are also 50 different "textures" to choose from that change the way your aura looks. Once you've chosen a texture it can be manipulated with the deformation, symmetry and opacity sliders.

3. When you have finished setting up how the aura looks, you can customize how and when it appears.

In this picture I am trying to show when I have Regrowth active on myself. I select "buff" from the drop-down menu, then enter "Regrowth" in the name field. Self-buffs and debuffs are the easiest to set.

Success!  ;D

You can make an aura animate by clicking the "Animation" tab. The settings are difficult to demonstrate through pictures for obvious reasons, so just have a mess around with it.

4. Setting up timers.

Here is an aura for Bloodlust that I made earlier. ::)

To enable a timer click the "Timer" tab. It's a simple as clicking "Enable" and moving the sliders a bit.

5. Global auras.

Auras that a shared between all of your characters all called Global auras. Just select Global page 1 instead of Character page 1 on the config screen and set it up how you would with any other aura.

6. Encounter specific auras.

I like to set up certain auras to remind me of particular buffs or debuffs related to an encounter. Here's another one I made earlier, this time for Sanity on Yogg-Saron.

If you look at the "Activation" settings. You can see that there is an option to set how many stacks of whatever buff/debuff you want the aura to be shown at. In this case, the big pulsing skull aura will show when I am at less that 30 Sanity. A useful reminder to get to a Sanity Well sharpish! Or if it's +1/+0, a reminder to be careful and play better.  ;D

^^ Another aura set up for Yogg, this time for P1 debuffs. The wonderful thing about this setup is that all you need to do is change the debuff name and it will work for any other encounter. For example: Light bombs/Gravity Bombs, Paralytic Poison, Mark of the Faceless, 2xBiting Cold, Nature's Fury, the list is endless!
