AQ20 fun!

On Saturday at 20:00 Phoenix Guard are arranging a run to the Ruins of Ahn Qui'raj. Prophecy are more than welcome as this is a warm up for future runs to Blackwing Lair and ultimately Naxxramas! As Phoenix Guard is a guild that do alot of RP the run will be done IC, if you yourself do not wish to raid IC, please refrain from lots of emoting and using /say.

Im quite chuffed they asked us tbh, PG are made of pure win and I'd quite like an IC AQ run simply because of Prophecys RP story (we were originally formed to save azeroth from the sillithid menace)

First of all - I be Ithralen of the Phoenix Guard However, the character that will be running this is the fellow here, Shiryou, an overly irritable Forsaken Warlock. If you've been reading the Of Ashen Wings topic, you'll have an idea what he is like.

A little history - I've had the pleasure of raiding all of the big 40 man instances in one form or another. In my humble opinion, nothing has ever exceeded their epicness either.


I don't remember my first moments in SSC or TK as vividly as I do Molten Core or Blackwing Lair. And NOTHING compares to Naxxramas; a truly terrifying place.

What's my goal?  To lead the RP'ers of DMF to Naxxramas, and take on that place entirely IN character. A group of 20 would be enough to clear some of the easier bosses; 40 could even take us to Kel'Thuzad. To be honest, just standing in the place fighting is fun enough.

The main problem with Naxx is attunement - you need Honoured rep with Argent Dawn, and varying amounts of Nexus Crystals, Arcane Crystals and Righteous Orbs to get that attunement. (Unless you're Exalted, which is free!).

The Nexus Crystals are the biggie, disenchanted from level 60 epics. Hence, this weekend, I'm offering to take folks who want to see one of the old 20 man instances, Ahn'Qiraj, to generally go and beat the stuffing out of various bug-eyed bosses. Not many epics drop in AQ20 - and I won't be disenchanting THAT pink dress, for you female characters -  but it might be a nice opportunity for you guys to RP and have fun with the Phoenix Guard and Ashen Wings (the RP group I'm starting), and see if this is even possible.

I consider the first run a 'prequel', almost; mostly IC to let people know each other and to tackle a relatively 'easy' instance before we hit the later ones where things will have wipes and people will get frustrated. For example, did you know Loatheb has a debuff that screws healers so they can only cast 1 healing spell a minute?

I also hear you've been beating up Onyxia, hopefully you've been saving those Onyxia Scales because otherwise we won't get past Firemaw ^^

Anyway, AQ20 won't be the last by far, so if you miss this there'll be others

Just give Ithralen or Shiryou a whisper in game if you need more info.

A small update

The first 'hit' is AQ20, tomorrow (Saturday) at 20:00.

The second will be next Friday (25th?) which will be Zul'Gurub :3

Will be setting up a thread on DMF for this also.

Simplest way to get Nexuses is to gather a group and go kill Onyxia. Takes around 30 minutes to kill with a tank, two dps and a healer. I've got 10 or so nexuses left, poke me if you need them for attunements.

I think the run today was a success, even if it got off a little slow. I forgot about the myriads of books that drop. Lessons learned, and hoping it'll go smoother.

I don't suppose you guys can give us a heads up for a next Onyxia run? We'd love to do that IC as part of the plot line, particularly for BWL.

Not sure were we'll go next. I'd like ZG, as another 20 man. But tbh, if we got 40 I'd rather hit something like AQ40, or BWL. (Not MC, it is zzzz! Although we DO need to summon Ragnaros...)
