Outland armour sets and where to get them

alot of people have been focusing on getting to Karazhan recently and i feel that some maybe overlooking the need to gear up before attempting raids such as Kara. For this reason i have compiled all the Outland sets and where to get them. Having one of these sets or equivalent level equipment is pretty much required in order to succeed in Karazhan.

Just one thing: Desolation is no melee set its great set for hunters (in my opinion better then for shamans)

And my personal viewing of some sets:

Beastlord, Incanter and Tidefury set bonuses are in my opinion pretty weak. they are solo oriented, useless in groups, no?

Desolation has enhancement shammy written all over it imo, +35 hit rating is unbelievably good for enhancement shammies. Although it is good for hunters as well just my 2c

It's generic because it has no class specific set bonuses. As Totes says its just as good for an Enhancement Shammie as it is for a hunter.

I put it as melee because according to WoW Wiki the set bonus doesnt proc for ranged attacks.

I've run Shadow Labs quite alot, but my set items (two of them drop there) just refused to drop even once. It becomes less and less annoying, since the primal mooncloth set is way better for healing.

For damage, I'm after the warlock set, no luck with it so far...

I'd quite to get some of the Mana-Etched set as it is far superior to the crappy mage set. Will need to do more Heroic instances to get it though, which means more SL to get the rep for the key

The Warrior "Bold" set is a weird set, it has some defense so you would think it is for tanking. However, it is not as good for tanking as some other random non-set blues which match in colouring/style etc. The stats include good sta, and reasonable str/agi, but no +crit or +hit at all - so not great for pvp/dps. There are better pvp/dps armor bits from quests or pvp honor rewards.

And the set bonuses for Bold are fairly weak tbh: -2 rage cost on shouts will save you at most 2 rage every 20 seconds while tanking (demo shout), or maybe a slightly easier to use intimidating shout in pvp. Woo. And the 4 piece, giving 5 extra rage when charging, is not really a tanking bonus as usually, you pull with ranged, not charge. Its also not a particularly good for pvp bonus, as intercept is used more in pvp. And you wouldn't wear 4 pieces of this in pvp as you would want more crit and attack power, instead of defence..

In fact, the only real use I can see for this set is solo PvE grindage, where it gives an all-round balance of damage and defense...

However, to fill up a few slots, this stuff is fine for both tanking and pvp until something better comes along. Just don't expect to be using the whole set for anything...

Weak?! The reduce on chain lightning jumps reduced to 17%? WEAK?! That is wicked dude. Wicked I tell you. Its reduced to half of what it was before!
And the watershield bonus.. Well. It is an elemental set, so of course it buffs the mana shield.
